The Atelier

A family-run garment atelier, two generations deep.

From our floor in Pushkar, Rajasthan, our artisan tailors cut, print and finish garments for womenswear and menswear labels across Europe and South America.

Our Story

Woven over two generations.

From a single cutting table in Pushkar to labels across six countries — the thread has never changed.

Chapter One

A single table

Sugarcane begins as a family workshop in Pushkar — one cutting table, a handful of tailors, patterns drawn by hand.

Chapter Two

The floor grows

Word travels from boutique to boutique. The workshop becomes a floor — printers, cutters and finishers under one roof.

Chapter Three

A second generation

The founders' children take their place at the table, carrying the same standard to a wider world.

Today

Six countries, one standard

80+ artisan tailors, 100,000+ pieces a year — and every piece still leaves the atelier checked by hand.

Inside the Atelier

The floor, the hands, the making.

Notes from Pushkar.

Short dispatches on craft, cloth and life on the atelier floor.

Why block printing still matters

Read the note

One of our artisans printing cotton by hand — the block is inked, placed by eye and struck with the heel of the palm, once for every repeat across the length of the cloth.

Every block starts as a slab of seasoned teak, carved by a karigar whose family has cut patterns for generations. Pressed by hand, no two repeats land exactly alike — a slight drift of ink, a breath of overlap.

That drift is the point. It is the difference between a print that was made and a print that was manufactured — and it is why a buyer can spot one of our pieces across a showroom.

From sari silk to finished silhouette

Read the note

Sari silk arrives at the atelier with its own history — a lustre new yarn cannot imitate. It is washed, sorted and re-mastered before a single pattern touches the table.

The result drapes like water and photographs like candlelight. It is the quiet luxury at the heart of our silk line.

A day on the atelier floor

Read the note

The floor wakes slowly: bolts unrolled, chalk lines drawn, the first seams running before the sun clears the rooftops.

By evening, every finished piece passes through one final pair of hands. Nothing ships that has not been held, turned and checked.
